Bacolod City Set to Distribute 296 Housing Units in December Under National Housing Program

·

Bacolod City is gearing up to hand over 296 housing units to eligible residents next month as part of the Asenso Yuhum Residences-Arao project, which falls under the Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino (4PH) Program. Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez shared this update during a presentation of the Bacolod City Master Plan at L’ Fisher Hotel on November 22, 2024. He expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming distribution, stating, ‘Next month, we will turn over our first 4PH housing to the beneficiaries.’ The Pag-IBIG Fund has already given the green light to 296 beneficiaries who will receive homes in Barangay Vista Alegre, each unit measuring at least 24 square meters. Construction has been completed on four buildings that will house these initial beneficiaries. The first and second towers contain 64 units each, the third has 80 units, and the fourth boasts 88 units. The city’s vision for the Arao Residences includes the construction of 25 buildings to accommodate a total of 4,596 housing units. The initial four buildings were developed through a partnership between the city and a consortium led by WRS Holdings Inc. and Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. The housing complex will also feature extensive open spaces and amenities such as a park, a large swimming pool, a clubhouse/multi-purpose hall, a basketball court, commercial areas, and parking facilities. Bacolod was the first local government to enter into an agreement with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in 2023 to implement the 4PH, a key initiative of the Marcos administration.
