·

In a recent statement, Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Raul Angelo Bongalon praised President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his efforts to facilitate the return of Mary Jane Veloso from Indonesia to the Philippines. Speaking at the ‘Tabang Bicol, Tindog Oragon’ program in Legazpi City, Bongalon highlighted the move as a clear demonstration of compassionate justice. The initiative, which involves Veloso serving her sentence in the Philippines instead of facing the death penalty in Indonesia, is seen as a positive outcome of diplomatic efforts between the two nations. Bongalon expressed optimism about Veloso’s return in December, emphasizing the importance of family visits and the opportunity for her loved ones to support her during this time. Additionally, Bongalon commended the President’s swift response to the needs of typhoon-affected families, noting visits by Marcos to Catanduanes and Speaker Martin Romualdez to various provinces as examples of proactive governance.
