In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, 14-year-old Gamalle Lhynn Regala from Clarin, Bohol, has been crowned the regional winner of the 2024 Search for Exemplary Pantawid Pamilya Children in Central Visayas. The competition, which saw 12 participants from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), highlighted the achievements of young beneficiaries striving to meet the program’s educational and health goals.
Regala, a resident of Barangay Bogtongbod, outshone her peers to claim the top spot, receiving a plaque of recognition and cash incentives. The other provincial winners, including Yasmin Baguio from Lazi, Siquijor, Ej Torquido from Dumanjug, Cebu, and Sydrick Jhames Tiaga from Basay, Negros Oriental, were also honored with certificates and cash incentives for their efforts.
Shalaine Marie Lucero, director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7, emphasized the crucial role these young beneficiaries play in achieving the program’s objectives. “Their unique stories inspire us to work harder for the betterment of each Filipino child,” Lucero stated, underscoring the importance of recognizing and encouraging these young role models.
The competition not only celebrates the achievements of these children but also aims to motivate them to remain active and compliant with the 4Ps conditions, fostering a sense of responsibility and community involvement. The four provincial winners from Central Visayas are currently representing their region at the 4Ps National Children’s Congress, held at WaterWorld Cebu in Mandaue City. The event, which began on Monday and will conclude on Friday, brings together provincial winners from across the nation to share their experiences and insights.
