Rescued Brahminy Kite Eagle Finds Safety in Surigao del Sur

In a heartwarming act of wildlife conservation, a Brahminy Kite Eagle was rescued in Lingig, Surigao del Sur, and handed over to local authorities on a Sunday afternoon. The bird was discovered by Sphere John Rivas Viroy, a resident of Sitio Cabilan, Barangay Poblacion, who promptly ensured its safety by turning it over to the Lingig Municipal Police Station. The police station praised Viroy for his responsible actions, which played a crucial role in safeguarding the eagle’s well-being. Following the rescue, the bird was transferred to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in Bislig City. At CENRO, the eagle will receive the necessary care and evaluation to assess its health and prepare it for a future release back into its natural habitat.
