In a dramatic drug bust in Meycauayan City, Bulacan, a police officer and two suspects sustained injuries during a confrontation that led to the seizure of PHP5.4 million worth of shabu. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in Barangay Pandayan, where a sting operation turned violent when one of the suspects, known as ‘Dan,’ initiated gunfire from a private vehicle. The police, under the command of the Meycauayan City Police Station’s Special Drug Enforcement Unit, responded with return fire, leading to the swift arrest of both suspects, ‘Dan’ and ‘Analyn.’ Captain Jocel Clavario, head of the Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit, was wounded in the leg during the exchange. The operation also uncovered an automatic 9mm Uzi rifle along with ammunition and magazines at the scene. The Provincial Forensic Unit was promptly on site to handle the investigation and process the crime scene, ensuring a thorough examination of the incident.
