The provincial government of Bulacan has stepped up to provide financial relief to disaster-affected areas in the Bicol Region and Batangas. On Thursday, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office disbursed a total of PHP3 million to support recovery efforts in these regions.
Albay, still recovering from the effects of last year’s Mt. Mayon ashfalls and the recent devastation caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, received PHP2 million. The funds were gratefully accepted by Governor Baby Glenda Ong, who acknowledged the crucial support for her community.
Naga City, which suffered significant flooding due to Kristine, was allocated PHP500,000. The aid was handed over to Mayor Nelson Legacion and Municipal Administrator Joselito Del Rosario, who expressed their appreciation for the assistance.
In Batangas, the town of Talisay received PHP500,000 to aid victims of deadly landslides. Mayor Nestor Natanauan and other local officials thanked Bulacan for the timely support.
Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando emphasized the province’s commitment to helping fellow Filipinos in times of crisis. ‘Our financial assistance reflects our solidarity and compassion, and we hope it offers some solace to those impacted by these tragic events,’ he stated.
