·

The Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., known as the Oro Chamber, has thrown its weight behind President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s initiative, the Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program (4PH), designed to offer affordable homes to low-income families. Avalyn Cahulogan, President of the Oro Chamber, declared their solid support for the President’s housing strategy in a statement released on Wednesday. She emphasized the chamber’s role as a leading voice for the business community in Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao, committed to driving the 4PH program forward. In a move to tackle the housing deficit, the Oro Chamber, in collaboration with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), has organized the Housing and Construction Congress and Expo, scheduled from November 12 to 14. Rey Niog, Assistant Director of DHSUD-10, highlighted the region’s housing challenges, including limited availability, high costs, and the urgent need for secure housing. He identified rapid population growth, escalating land prices, inadequate infrastructure, and widespread informal settlements as significant obstacles to achieving affordable housing in the area.
