In preparation for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections, Negros Oriental has experienced a modest increase in its voter registration numbers. The latest figures from the Commission on Elections-Negros Island Region (Comelec-NIR) indicate that the province now boasts 978,643 registered voters, marking an increase of 46,604 from the 932,039 voters recorded during the 2022 elections. This uptick was confirmed following a thorough on-site verification carried out by a team from the Comelec central office between November 1 and 9. Across the entire Negros Island Region, which includes Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, and Siquijor, the total number of registered voters stands at 3,070,100. Specifically, Negros Occidental has 2,009,564 registered voters, while Siquijor has 81,893. The region is equipped with 1,353 villages, 3,922 clustered precincts, and 1,430 voting centers to facilitate the electoral process.
