New E-Center in Davao Provides SSS Services to 3,000 Detainees

·

In a significant move to enhance the welfare of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), the Social Security System (SSS) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Davao Region have collaborated to establish an e-center. This facility, inaugurated on October 25, allows approximately 3,000 detainees across various BJMP-11 facilities in Davao to access a variety of SSS online services. Mary Ellen Estoque, SSS Vice President for Mindanao South 1 Division, highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure inclusivity in service provision. The e-center enables PDLs to apply for SSS numbers, manage their My.SSS accounts, reset passwords, and submit applications for benefits. Estoque emphasized the importance of reaching out to all community members, including those who might feel marginalized, showcasing the commitment of both SSS and BJMP-11 to support the residents of Davao City.
