Calabarzon continues to lead as the region with the highest number of registered voters in the Philippines, with a total of 9,761,170 voters as of September 30, 2024. This figure was announced by Margaret Joyce Cortez, the Assistant Regional Director of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for Calabarzon, during a forum in Biñan City, Laguna. The region saw an increase of 1,990,992 new voters since February, solidifying its status as the nation’s top vote-rich area.

Central Luzon, with 7,733,454 registered voters, and the National Capital Region, with 7,581,734 voters, follow Calabarzon in voter numbers. In the previous election year of 2022, Calabarzon also topped the list with 9,193,095 voters, while NCR and Central Luzon were second and third, respectively.

The breakdown of voter registration within Calabarzon shows Cavite leading with 2,460,981 voters, followed by Laguna with 2,150,051, Batangas with 1,968,785, Rizal with 1,681,529, and Quezon with 1,502,824. These numbers highlight the region’s significant influence in national elections.

In the upcoming elections, 75 candidates are vying for seats in Calabarzon’s 31 congressional districts, with 28 candidates running for the five gubernatorial positions and 22 for the five vice gubernatorial posts. To ensure the integrity of the electoral process, Comelec plans to launch a voter education caravan across the region. This initiative will include demonstrations of the new automated counting machines in every barangay, aiming to familiarize voters with the updated voting technology.
