Davao City is set to launch its much-anticipated Pasko Fiesta 2024 on November 28, embracing the theme ‘Enchanted Woodland: The Magic of Forest in the Heart of the City.’ The Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) has been diligently preparing for the event, with Jennifer Romero, the officer in charge, stating that the executive committee is finalizing all arrangements. The city hall grounds will be transformed with dazzling displays including giant reindeer, festive gift boxes, and Santa’s sleigh, accompanied by music, arts, and dance performances.
The festival will feature 15 major events, including five competitions: Koro sa Pasko on December 7, Banda Dasig on December 15, Sayaw sa Pasko on December 21, Pasko Panag-uban on December 13, and the newly introduced Mugna sa Pasko, a creative costume competition themed around Christmas, scheduled for December 15 alongside the Parada sa Pasko.
From November 29 to December 29, the city will be filled with the sounds of Christmas through the ‘Panayegon sa City Hall.’ The Perya sa Pasko, featuring traditional fairground attractions, will be held at Rizal Park from December 1 to 27, and Music in the Park will make its debut at Magsaysay Park on December 7.
The CTOO has also selected two barangays from each of the city’s three congressional districts to host the Christmas on Wheels, known as ‘Kasadya sa Pasko,’ and ‘Kalingawan sa Distrito’ programs. The festivities will conclude with the Pasko Fiesta Grand Bazaar at Esplanade Park, Bago Aplaya, from December 26 to 31.
